His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Governor of the Madinah Region, was patron of the signing ceremony for a SABIC agreement to support the establishment of the MADAC Education Academy in Madinah. The ceremony, held on May 29, was attended by Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thenyan Al-Saud, President of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and Chairman of SABIC.
Following the ceremony, Prince Saud praised the efforts of the Governor of the Madinah Region to develop his community. The Chairman commended the MADAC Academy’s role in improving the quality of education and said SABIC is keen on innovative socially responsible initiatives and cooperating with community partners to provide the best services to society. He said SABIC’s contribution to establishing this academy is in line with its strategy, which supports science and technology education.
Under the agreement, SABIC will support the establishment of the MADAC Education Academy, which aims to build a world-class educational complex with a balanced environment for education and cultural values – one that applies the best educational theories and practices.
Through this 20 million Saudi riyal initiative, SABIC will contribute to the construction of the academy’s museum and exploration center, with an area of 2000 square meters. The center specializes in providing an investigative education for children and young people, encouraging them to understand the historical, cultural, and scientific aspects of civilization and to develop intellectual skills in science and culture.
Yousef Al-Benyan, SABIC Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, signed the agreement on behalf of SABIC, and Abdullah Hafez, MADAC Executive Director, Madinah, on behalf of MADAC Education Holding.
Hafez spoke about the vision of the academy and its quality services, which will be provided through education, training, and research, from kindergarten to high school. He commended SABIC’s social initiatives and support for the academy. SABIC’s effective social role is helping quality education in the Kingdom, he said.
The agreement embodies SABIC’s leadership in national responsibility and reflects the comprehensiveness of its social-responsibility strategy. It shows SABIC’s support for national efforts and activities that serve Saudi society, and its keenness to help initiatives that improve lives. SABIC supports efforts to develop education, especially as “science and technology education” is a pillar of its CSR strategy, along with health and wellness, environmental protection, and water and sustainable agriculture.
