SABIC INNOVATION AWARD WINNERS HONORED

As part of our social responsibility strategy to promote science and technology education, and in support of education in Saudi Arabia, we organized the SABIC Innovation Award for Saudi universities to contribute to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 of an ambitious nation, a vibrant society and a thriving economy.

At ceremonies held at the winning universities’ headquarters in different regions, we honored the winners of SABIC Innovation Award from Saudi universities from October 2 to 15.

The award aims to motivate Saudi university students to participate in an annual competition for the best graduation projects in chemical engineering and chemical sciences. This, in turn, helps promote excellence in research and academic projects in the fields of chemical science and engineering in the Kingdom, support scientific research and creative thinking and nurture a culture of innovation in Saudi Arabia.

The award received great attention from the presidents of Saudi universities and scientific research leaders, as well as the deans of the faculties of engineering and science, who attended the honoring ceremonies of the winning students.

King Saud University won the first and second place awards, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals won the third place award, King Abdulaziz University won the fourth place award, and King Khalid University won the fifth place award.

SABIC is currently planning to expand the award to cover as many new and cutting-edge research areas as possible, specifically emerging areas that promise a better future for the Kingdom and the world.
