As part of its commitment to supporting the agricultural sector's ability to meet food security requirements, SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company presented a range of diverse and sustainable solutions at the International Fertilizer Association (IFA) Strategic Forum 2021, which was organized in Dubai, November 15-17, and which focused on the African market.
During his participation in the Forum, Samir Al-Abdrabbuh, Executive Vice President of SABIC Agri-Nutrients Strategic Business Unit and IFA Board Member said, “Africa as a potential global food supplier offers huge growth opportunity for the Agri-Nutrient industry as an enabler to achieve the food production goals.”
The three-day global forum took stock of the food and nutrition security situation of Africa, identified new opportunities for the fertilizer industry, and considered the main recommendations of the UN Food Systems Summit and COP26.
Al-Abdrabbuh said that Africa continues to be a strategic market for SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company.
“SABIC Agri-Nutrients Co. will accelerate its plans to offer more diversified and sustainable agri-nutrient complete solutions and widen its presence with a differentiated value proposition in attractive growth regions, such as Africa,” he added.
Last year, SABIC announced that it has consolidated its agri-nutrient assets under a single entity, the SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company, and moved all core business functions and competencies to it, thus creating agility and focus while building on the four decades of global market presence and brand recognition. SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company was the diamond sponsor of the IFA Strategic Forum.
SABIC Agri-Nutrients Co. remains committed to sustainability by combining sustainability with innovation through 20 Technology & Innovation facilities around the world.

“The event featured an exciting high-level multi-stakeholder dialogue focusing on Africa, a high growth potential market, which has to identify innovative ways to feed itself and the globe in an era of climate change and food systems transformation,” said Fahad Al-Battar in his reflections about the forum.
