Monitoring and imaging devices include a very diverse range of applications from hand-held and small devices such as pulse oximeters, blood pressure and other patient monitors, to larger transportable devices such as anesthesia delivery systems and ultrasound, to very large stationary equipment such as MRI and X-ray machines. Since most of these applications are used in a hospital environment, a common requirement is the need for chemical resistance to increasingly aggressive disinfectants which are being used to prevent the spread of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
