GETTING FOOD TO WHERE IT’S NEEDED
Emergency food has been in greater demand since the COVID-19 crisis. By supporting local foodbanks, SABIC and its employees are playing their part in tackling food insecurity.
The economic stresses created by the pandemic meant that more families in the US have needed to rely on foodbanks. These operations, which operate across the country, require significant funding, logistics and manpower to achieve their mission of relieving food insecurity in America’s cities.
SABIC collaborated with Aramco Americas and Motiva to support the Houston Food Bank, the nation’s largest in terms of distribution. In 2023, our employee volunteers and their families helped to assemble non-perishable food items that created 12,298 meals for underprivileged local families.
By working together like this, corporations, NGOs and employees can provide vital support to communities at times of need.
