Dr. Faisal Mohammed Alfaqeer
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBER
Dr. Faisal Mohammed Alfaqeer is the Chief Executive Officer, an Executive Member of the Board of Directors at SABIC, and Investment Committee Member, with more than three decades of experience in the global petrochemicals and refining sectors.
Dr. Alfaqeer earned a master's degree and Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, as well as a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. In addition, he has participated in several leadership and management training programs, including the Leadership Program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
Before joining SABIC, Dr. Alfaqeer held several senior leadership positions at Saudi Aramco, including Senior Vice President of IK Liquids to Chemicals Development, where he led one of the company's most strategic growth initiatives. He also served as CEO of Sadara Chemical Company. In addition, he has overseen various key functions at Saudi Aramco, including Engineering Consulting Services, Research and Development, and Refining. His earlier roles include Vice President of Ras Tanura Refinery and Head of Aramco's Research and Development Center, where he was responsible for establishing several research satellite centers in North America and Europe.
Dr. Alfaqeer is the Chairman of the Shareholders Committee at ARLANXEO, and the Chairman of the Talent and Compensation Subcommittee. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Saudi Aramco Mobil Refinery Company, Ltd. (SAMREF). Besides, he serves on the Board of Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (YASREF) and is the Chairman of the Board Compensation Committee. He is a board member at the Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association (GPCA), and a member of the Board of Trustees of National Industrial Training Institute (NITI). He has also served on Sadara's Board of Directors and was a member of the Project Execution and Ethics & Compliance committees before he became Sadara's CEO.
