trinamiX, a fully-owned BASF subsidiary, has developed an identifier system combining a near-infrared handheld device with cloud-based data analysis that lets recycling operatives simply press a button to have plastics, textiles and other materials rapidly identified, with the answer appearing on the handset within seconds.
