LUCID
Lucid Group stands at the forefront of the electric vehicle (EV) industry, innovatively merging luxury with advanced technology to revolutionize transportation. Committed to fostering sustainable energy adoption, Lucid has established major manufacturing facilities in Casa Grande, Arizona, and King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), Saudi Arabia, emphasizing its commitment to global environmental standards and economic diversification.
HV Battery Module
The Lucid Air battery pack uses modules with 300 cylindrical lithium-ion cells in a 21-700 format, arranged in a 10S30P configuration, producing around 42 volts per module. Efficient thermal management is ensured through end-cooling plates that dissipate heat. Lucid's proprietary bus bar design minimizes resistance and optimizes energy transfer. This design enhances the battery's efficiency, safety, and overall performance, contributing to the vehicle’s extended range.
Electric Drive Unit
The Lucid Air's Electric Drive Unit (EDU) integrates the motor, transmission, and inverter into a compact, efficient system, delivering high power output while enhancing range and acceleration. Designed and manufactured in-house, the EDU ensures seamless integration with the vehicle's components. It also supports regenerative braking, converting kinetic energy into electric power to recharge the battery, further boosting efficiency and performance.
Wunderbox
The Wunderbox in the Lucid Air is the core of its high-voltage management system, handling all power flows to and from the battery. It converts AC power from home chargers to DC for the battery and manages DC power from fast chargers. With a boost conversion system, it enables charging at lower voltages, boosting up to 900 volts. The Wunderbox also enhances crash performance, noise reduction, and overall efficiency.
