Civil aviation is a key catalyst for economic development: as a major employer and infrastructure customer; as an enabler of employment-heavy industries like tourism; and as a key facilitator for global businesses of every kind. Saudi Arabia and the Middle East are a prime focus for the industry, with the Saudi government recently announcing major investments in airport infrastructure, and Boeing and Airbus forecasting sales of almost 6,000 planes in the region by 2036.
