WORKSHOP DISCUSSES RECYCLING CHALLENGES FACED BY INDUSTRIES
On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, SABIC Local Content and Business Development Unit, represented by Home of Innovation™ hosted a workshop at SABIC Plastic Applications Development Center (SPADC), targeting 18companies and a project from the recycling sector.
In the presence of 50 decision makers, investors, and interested in the recycling sector, government entities, the private sector, Nusaned™ graduates and Home of Innovation™ partners,
The workshop included presentations from The National Center for Waste Management (MWAN),
The Oil Sustainability Program (OSP) and SABIC (Circular Carbon Economy) to highlight the efforts and initiatives in recycling on the industrial field,
in addition to an open discussion to the identified the challenges facing from the investors in the recycling sector in order to submit it to the regulators and decision makers entities.
The workshop included an opportunity for discussion and important talks between the attendees, partners and interested parties. The main challenges facing the field of recycling in the industrial sector were highlighted.
At the end of the workshop agenda, a tour of the Home of Innovation ™ facilities was held,
including a presentation of the most prominent technologies in the national industrial strategy sectors.
It should be noted that the Home of Innovation™ is SABIC's growth-enhancing initiative that combines aspects of marketing, innovation, and technology, with the aim of creating demand and promoting the development of the downstream sector. This facility constitutes a platform and platform for showcasing global innovations, while monitoring and developing opportunities and solutions available in new markets.
