A webinar held on July 6 served to link success partners with innovations and solutions while acting as a catalyst for new ideas and business opportunities by discussing the challenges faced by the ongoing localization initiatives.
The webinar titled “DarTec Webinar, Your Local Reverse Engineering Partner” by DarTec Engineering addressed three major concerns: Availability of Technical Database, End-User/Affiliate’s conference in local alternatives to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), End-User/Affiliate’s commitment through offtake agreements.
Established in 2012, DarTec Engineering is specialized in localizing the manufacturing of mechanical spare parts and inspection by developing the required 2D Engineering Drawings, Metallurgy Analysis, and 3D CAD Models in addition to facilitating and managing the manufacturing process with their co-founder Hashim Alzain.
Alzain presented an overview of reverse engineering and how it can catalyze local content in the area of spare parts and operational excellence. Case studies from across the industry were shared to demonstrate the state of art capabilities of DarTec.
As DarTec is a well-designed establishment that bridges the gap between demand and offer, Alkhorayef (FULL NAME and TITLE NEEDED) talked about collaboration in pumping technology components.
The webinar attended by more than 100 participants evoked a high-level of interest of most invitees from the Home of Innovation™, internal SABIC stakeholders and external advisory committees, as well as focal points from SABIC Manufacturing.
HoI™ participant Alkhorayef requested the DarTec co-founder Hashim Alzain to become an advisory member at chamber of commerce (which city’s chamber or is it Council of Saudi Chambers??).
Siemens requested to initiate collaboration in the field of gas turbine components, which is an area they got involved in with Dartec in 2018.
SABIC Manufacturing were interested in printing advanced composite materials, additives, rubber gaskets, shafts and gear components.
