BAN KI-MOON HEADS BOAO FORUM DELEGATION ON VISIT TO HOME OF INNOVATION

Our CEO, Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh, received Ban Ki-moon, Chairman of the Boao Forum for Asia and the eighth Secretary General of the United Nations, during his visit to the Home of Innovation™ (HoI) in Riyadh, along with a delegation from the Forum. The visitors expressed their appreciation for the HoI initiative, which combines technology, innovation and marketing, and plays a key role in enhancing cooperation and promoting localization.

During the visit, the visitors were briefed on the high-tech facilities and cutting-edge designs at the HoI, including a model of our CO₂ capture and purification plant and leading innovations in the fields of transportation, healthcare, building and construction. They also witnessed a demonstration of 3D printing and learned about the performance and achievements of HoI, which plays a pivotal role in the collaborative efforts of SABIC and its technology partners.

The visiting delegation also toured the Demonstration House, the first single-family residence in the Middle East region to earn a LEED-Platinum certification, designed to achieve net-zero energy balance. The delegation was introduced to the innovative solutions and technologies used in the Demonstration House that help it save energy up to 40%.

The guests were also introduced to SABIC’s latest initiatives to help enhance the Kingdom’s position globally, including the NUSANED™ local content initiative, which is in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.
