Our materiality analysis targets resources to the most important issues. In 2018, we used evidence to determine our priorities for the next five years.
The refresh built upon our past approach, exploring stakeholder needs, major trends, benchmarks, and business impacts. We considered economic, social, and environmental dimensions and global reporting guidelines.
The materiality priorities enable us to focus on the most relevant issues. Internal engagement was crucial to develop new metrics to drive progress.
Our path to approved step-change targets was enabled by our Sustainability Council and Sustainability Steering Committee. Both bodies approved the protocols and targets for assurance readiness.
