DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF HAINAN PROVINCE VISITS HOME OF INNOVATION

Bater, Deputy Governor of Hainan Province, China, visited the Home of Innovation™ initiative (HoI) and explored the efforts being made to enhance local content development, transfer of technology to the Kingdom, and promote a culture of innovation and sustainability. He also learnt about the SABIC’s strategies to help achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Receiving the Deputy Governor and his accompanying delegation, Mohammed Al-Zahrani, Vice President, Chemicals, gave a brief about the high-tech facilities and cutting-edge designs at the HoI, including a model of our CO₂ capture and purification plant and leading innovations in the fields of transportation, healthcare, building and construction. They also witnessed a 3D printing demonstration.

Meanwhile, a trade delegation from Chinese companies visited HoI to learn about the achievements of the initiative, which plays a pivotal role in the collaborative efforts of SABIC and its partners in the technology space. They also toured the high-tech facilities at HoI’s Demonstration House and learned about its innovative solutions that helps save energy by up to 40%.

The guests were also introduced to SABIC’s NUSANED™ local content initiative, which is closely aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

HoI supports Saudi Arabia’s transition toward a knowledge-based economy in line with SABIC’s overall strategy, where innovation is a core element in its growth plans and a key part of its support for the Kingdom’s development plans.
