HAPSOFT™ PPcompounds: Automotive Thermoplastic Solutions from SABIC

With their soft tactile feel, elegant aesthetics and excellent scratch resistance, HAPSOFT™ PPcompounds help automakers deliver a luxurious ambiance combined with practical durability for interior components such as center consoles, door panels, armrests and trim. 

These glass fiber-reinforced PP copolymers address key automotive trends, including the transformation of cabins to entertainment and relaxation centers with the advent of autonomous vehicles, and the proliferation of rideshare services that require wear-resistant as well as comfortable interiors. 

In addition to providing desirable haptics for customer enjoyment, HAPSOFT PPcompounds can benefit OEMs and tiers by avoiding the need for the secondary application of soft paint, foam and fabric, potentially cutting costs by up to 50 percent. These materials are available with different glass fiber loadings. All are designated automotive grades.

PP copolymer; UV stabilized; injection molding grade; highest stiffness of the three grades; 25% glass fiber reinforcement; flexural modulus of 2950Mpa @ room temperature (ISO 527/1A); natural and custom colors.
