HEALTH

COLLABORATION. IT MEANS BETTER HEALTH AND WELLBEING.

SABIC’s partnerships in healthcare are helping to protect people in public spaces and healthcare environments, and transform patients’ lives for the better.

Reducing the risk in shared spaces

Since COVID-19, we’ve all become acutely aware of the risk of touching surfaces in places where many people gather or pass through. That’s why SABIC is making it possible for designers to build infection control into the very fabric of the spaces they create. Our cladding materials can make high-touch surfaces become resistant to the microbes that spread disease, so workplaces and public areas feel cleaner and safer.

Safer, longer-lasting medical equipment

In hospitals, hygiene can be a matter of life and death. To help protect patients from healthcare-associated infections, medical facilities and devices need frequent deep cleaning, especially during the pandemic. However, this can damage valuable devices and shorten its life. We’ve partnered with device manufacturers to create polymers that withstand aggressive disinfectants, so equipment lasts longer, and people feel protected in hospitals and healthcare settings.

Freedom to people with diabetes

Diabetes is a challenge in many people’s lives. We work with medical device manufacturers to create new solutions for people with diabetes, combining advanced materials and technology so diabetics can monitor blood glucose and have insulin delivered automatically. By reducing the need to constantly monitor and manage blood glucose levels, diabetics can go about their daily lives with more ease.

REDUCING THE RISK IN SHARED SPACES

Do I need to wash my hands now? Since COVID-19, we’ve all become acutely aware of the risk of touching surfaces in places where many people gather or pass through.
